'Pies for damn lies and statistics' as Danish anti-green author gets his just desserts

Danish anti-environmentalist author Bjorn Lomborg today received his just desserts courtesy of a fellow writer enraged at his "dangerous and misleading" statements on crucial green issues. A pie was thrown in his face at Borders Bookshop in Oxford just after 7pm this evening.

Nine women environmentalists were violently assaulted when they attempted a peaceful office occupation against the construction of the new heavy crude pipeline. They were protesting against a 500 mile pipeline which will help oil companies double production in the Amazon.

1. Climate change is a direct result of our addiction to fossil fuels. We cannot imagine life without fossil fuels. If our supply is cut off we "brown out" or even "black out"

2. We suspend all moral standards to get a fix. We are prepared to carve up conservation areas, overrule all basic human rights, and even carpet bomb countries to maintain the flow of fuel.

On the 20th of July, Social Ecologist Transformation made an action in Istanbul, in solidarity with the Climate Summit in Bonn. The action was in Istiklal Street, in one of the main and crowded squares of Istanbul. The other groups in Anarchist Platform, Anarchist Youth Federation and the Masterless.

The Rising Tide climate change tour travelled around the UK, visiting 11 places and spreading information on climate change, inspiring action, and instilling hope that things really can get better, not just wetter.
