Critical Mass
A Critical Mass is about showing the alternative to a car-dominated city. Our aim is to not to obstruct traffic. We ARE traffic, and cycling is a much more effective and appropriate means of transport in a city. A cycling city would be cleaner, safer and friendlier than a car dominated one.

Climate Chaos
We are cycling around York to bring to peoples attention:

The fact that politicians will carry on talking about climate change until it is far, far too late and that it is up to everyone of us to change and adapt our lifestyles, so that we can achieve the UN recommendations of an 80% reduction in current carbon emission levels, worldwide.

The fact that up to 40% of your heating bill is wasted unless your house has double-glazing, cavity wall and loft insulation. And the fact that there are grants available to help toward the initial costs.

The fact that we should be investing more money and resources into renewable forms of energy rather than carbon fuels and nuclear energy.

That we should be using fossil fuel vehicles only when necessary, not for a trip to the local shop etc.

That we need to actively recycle our household waste rather than bury it in landfill sites.
