THE BAKU-CEYHAN PIPELINE CAMPAIGN
WHAT YOU CAN DO
Without public finance this project cannot go ahead.
It is vital to put pressure on key decision makers for financing
the BCP, and companies who are involved in the project. Here are
some ideas for getting involved:
Outreach and publicity
Organise a speaker meeting- come to speaker training or contact
us for support in organizing a meeting about the pipeline. We have
information, materials and a range of speakers about different aspects
of the pipeline project. If you'd like to be a key motivator in
your area, then come along to the speaker training in January
Students - Organize speaker meetings, write letters, ask
questions.. and more.. at BP recruitment events, and oppose BP sponsorship
in your universities.
Unions - pass a resolution in your Union opposing public
finance for the Baku-Ceyhan pipeline
Visit this website - for up to date information and news
of recent and forthcoming campaigns.
Join the Action List
Send us your name,
address and email / phone number and we'll keep you updated on upcoming
events, meetings, demonstrations and news.
Come to the Teach-In, London, Sat 25th January 2003
If you want to be more involved in the campaign, get this date in
your diary now. The teach-in day will focus on the key issues in
the morning, and move on to more practical campaigning ideas in
the afternoon. We'll be updating on the international campaigns,
planning for existing campaigning in the UK, and planning our next
steps for our local areas.

Write a letter
Friends of the Earth have organised an e-mail campaign to write
letters to Clare Short at the Department for International Development,
which overseas the British directors for tow of the main sources
of finance for the project: the World Bank and the European Bank
for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)
